Our Mission
We are dedicated to making your perinatal experience all you imagined it could be. Through education and a professional support team we help you sort through all of the information surrounding pregnancy, childbirth, and the basics of newborn care.
We believe that life is about choices and each family has differing needs and interpersonal dynamics. When you discover your options it removes the fear of the unknown and empowers you to make the best choices for you and your family. All of our instructors are certified and experienced RN's. Our clients like the fact that often the same nurse educator can be available for all their courses, as well as in hospital and at home follow up. Since our nurse educators have many years of teaching and childbirth experience, they can deal with the unexpected and maintain your comfort level throughout your pregnancy.

As a nurse in women's services since 1988, I have always been an advocate for women's empowerment through education. Working in Labor and Delivery as well as the various women's services departments and nurseries over the years I noted that women did so much better when they understood what to expect. I learned how to help my patients better take control of their responses simply by having a clear understanding of what was taking place and why it was occurring.
Labor and Delivery has changed greatly in the last 30 years. As a nurse, mother and military wife I have learned many different philosophies for pregnancy management and delivery first hand. In many military bases physicians did not administer epidurals for vaginal deliveries, only non-emergent caesarean sections. Many women got IV medication and learned to "breathe thru the pain" . I began teaching Prepared Childbirth classes in 1992. We taught breast-feeding but most women weren't very interested in it and if we could help them attempt latch on we praised them highly for trying. What I discovered was that with education women were willing to try things that their mothers hadn't. Their husbands began working with them in formulating a family plan when they were included in the education and decision making roles.
Today it is a whole new and wonderful world. Every option is now available to families and I am thrilled to be a part of the next step in childbirth education.
